Easy Slow Cooker Applesauce

Easy Slow Cooker Applesauce

Nothing smells better than apples simmering in the slow cooker. Seriously guys, this is my favorite homemade applesauce recipe. Not only is it the easiest thing to make, it tastes like heaven. I think I can eat the whole pot. There is no sugar added, but the applesauce is naturally sweetened by the apples itself. With a touch of cinnamon and spice, it’s the perfect comfort snack without all the guilt. I love apples and homemade applesauce just blows any store bought applesauce out of the water. You will never want to go back. You can use whatever apples your tastebuds desire depending on the sweetness level you want to have with your applesauce. You need to go buy some apples and make this right away! You won’t be disappointed! It takes very little effort for something so amazingly delicious. Easy Slow Cooker ApplesauceEasy Slow Cooker Applesauce Easy Slow Cooker Applesauce Easy Slow Cooker ApplesauceEasy Slow Cooker Applesauce

Easy Slow Cooker Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 9 medium sized apples (I used 5 fuji, 3 golden delicious, and 1 pink lady)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Roughly peel your apples. I peeled about 75% of each apple, leaving some skin. This is optional. You can leave the peel on or off.
  • Chop your apples into 1 inch chunks and put it in the slow cooker. Add lemon juice, water, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the slow cooker with the apples and combine well.
  • Cook on high for 3-4 hours until the apples have been broken down. They will still partly be in chunks but it will be very soft. Use a potato masher and mash until your desired consistency. Or you can just stir it until you get a smooth consistency. The apples will break down even more.
  • Let it cool and enjoy!
  • You can store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Mine definitely did not last that long though.
