We went rock climbing, shopping, toured BYU, attended the Payson Temple open house, and tried a bunch of restaurants. Of course she is a foodie too. She loves waffles so we took her to Bruges for some yummy Belgium waffles. It was so good! We were in waffle heaven. For breakfast the next day, we wanted to make our own waffles. I decided to make my go to vegan whole grain waffles recipe from the Minimalist Baker. It turned out so good and I just happened to have some berries in my fridge to put on top. Mmm&#8230;.we never get sick of waffles in our house. We drizzled some pure maple syrup on top and devoured it in minutes. It was much tastier and healthier than instant waffle mix or frozen waffles. block;\">In a large bowl, prepare flax egg by combining water and flaxseed and letting it rest for 5 minutes to achieve an \u201ceggy\u201d texture.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-6980-step-0-1\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Add the maple syrup, applesauce, oil, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon and whisk. Add almond milk and stir once more.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-6980-step-0-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Next add flour and oat flour\u00a0and whisk gently until just combined. Let batter rest while preheating your waffle iron, preferably to a high \u201ccrispy\u201d setting. (I like mine crispy)<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-6980-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Once preheated, generously spray the waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray and spoon about 1\/2 cup of the batter onto the center of the iron and cook according to manufacturer\u2019s instructions.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-6980-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Once done, place on a cooling rack briefly to let steam roll off and crisp up a bit. Then transfer to serving plates in a 200-degree oven.
