Easy Blender Salsa (vegan, gluten-free)

chip in a bowl of salsa

Ditch the store bought salsa and make this super easy blender salsa in under 5 minutes! There is minimal chopping and you just throw everything in the blender! It’s so delicious and flavorful that you can enjoy with chips, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, or nourish bowls.

This blender salsa is a lot cheaper than store bought salsa too! You just need a few simple ingredients and you’re just minutes away to an amazing salsa.

Why This Recipe Works

Fire-roasted canned tomatoes are the secret. They’re already charred and deeply flavored straight out of the can, which means you get restaurant-style depth without turning on the stove or waiting for fresh tomatoes to be in season.

The blender does all the work. No dicing, no mincing, no crying over chopped onions. Everything goes in at once and blends into a smooth-but-textured salsa in under 30 seconds.

It gets better with time. A quick rest in the fridge lets the lime, garlic, and jalapeño mellow and meld, so even a rushed weeknight batch tastes like it’s been simmering all day.

It’s the kind of recipe you’ll want on repeat all summer — for chip dipping, taco topping, or spooning over just about anything that needs a little brightness.

chip in a bowl of salsa
Prep Time:5 minutes
Total Time:3 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 (28-ounce) can fire-roasted tomatoes, or use 2 (14-ounce) cans (drain out some liquid if you want a thicker salsa)
  • 1/2 small yellow onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup cilantro (mostly leaves, discard thick stems)
  • 1 jalapeño, optional to deseed (I didn’t deseed it, but you can if you want it mild)
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp pure organic cane sugar
  • 3/4-1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Add everything into the blender and blend until combined, about 20-30 seconds. You want it smooth with some texture.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Enjoy!
  • Store in an airtight jar in the fridge. It tastes even better if you let it sit in the fridge for a few hours before eating so the flavors can meld together.
Servings: 10
