Easy Homemade Kit Kat Bars (vegan, refined sugar free, gluten-free friendly)
Halloween is coming up and homemade candy bars have been on repeat over here! These super easy homemade kit kat bars are so delicious and only require 4 ingredients. It’s a decadent, yet healthier, version of your store bought kit kat bars.
Kit kats were always one of my favorite Halloween candies and these homemade ones are like a grown up version. It has the best crunch factor and the dark chocolate shell is amazing. I used cashew butter for the filling in-between the graham crackers because it doesn’t have an overpowering taste like peanut butter.
If you are strictly vegan, make sure your graham crackers are vegan. Luckily, there are a lot of options these days and should be fairly easy to find.
I used my favorite HU Kitchen dark chocolate gems (use code: NUTSABOUTGREENS for a discount) for the chocolate coating. They are so yummy, especially with the flakey sea salt (or you can use kosher salt) on top.
I love eating these cold straight out of the fridge. They definitely do not last long, so feel free to double the recipe. It’s so easy enough that your kiddos can help you make them too.

Easy Homemade Kit Kat Bars (vegan, refined sugar free, gluten-free friendly)
Ingredients
- 6 full sheets graham crackers (use vegan and GF if needed)
- 3-4 tbsp cashew butter (or any nut butter)
- 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate (I used HU Kitchen, code NUTSABOUTGREENS to save $$)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Slice each sheet of graham crackers in half. Then slice each half in half again. You will have 4 rectangles total per sheet, or 24 rectangles total.
- Divide graham cracker rectangles into groups of 3 rectangles. You will have 8 groups total.
- Take one group of rectangles and spread a thin layer of cashew butter on one piece of graham cracker. Place another piece of graham cracker on top and spread a thin layer of cashew butter on top of that one. Then place the last piece of graham cracker on top. Gently press the 3 pieces together so they stick. Place on a piece of parchment paper on a plate while you do the rest of the graham crackers.
- Once done, place plate in the fridge while you melt the chocolate. Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments stirring after each interval until chocolate is melted. Careful not to burn the chocolate.
- Carefully dip each kit kat into the chocolate until completely covered. Place dipped kit kats on the parchment paper. Once done, place plate in the fridge for 1 hour to set. Enjoy! Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer!
