Easy Vegan Korean Beef
This easy vegan Korean beef is so flavorful and comes together in one pan. It only takes a few minutes to make and minimal ingredients. It’s an easy weeknight meal that is so delicious, especially over rice.
This easy vegan Korean beef is sweet, savory, and has a hint of spice just like traditional Korean bulgogi. Serve it with some rice and veggies and you got yourself a tasty meal the whole family will love! You can also eat with in tacos, sushi, quesadillas, etc. The options are endless!
All you need are some pantry ingredients and vegan beef crumbles. I like Alpha Foods’ plant based beef crumbles but you can use any brand. If the bag you have is larger than 8 oz, just make sure to adjust the recipe as necessary.

Easy Vegan Korean Beef
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger (or 1/2 tsp fresh grated garlic)
- 8 oz vegan beef crumbles (I used Alpha Foods plant based crumbles)
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp gochugaru, or to taste (or red pepper flakes)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, make the sauce by adding the brown sugar, soy sauce, gochugaru, and sesame oil. Stir and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium high heat, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Then add the onions. Saute until starting to brown. Add the garlic and ginger. Saute for 30 seconds.
- Add the plant based beef crumbles. Saute for 4-5 minutes. Then add the brown sugar, soy sauce, and gochugaru. Saute for 3 more minutes.
- Add the green onions and sesame oil. Stir until combined. Turn off heat and serve over rice. Enjoy! You can top it with more green onions and sesame seeds on top if you’d like.
I’m trying to make the recipe right now, but you don’t indicate how much water to use in the sauce. I guess I’ll try 1/4 cup.
Hi! I am so sorry! I just saw this but that was a typo, there is no water, it was supposed to say gochugaru. Hopefully it still turned out good for you! I fixed the typo, thank you for letting me know!
